Photo Session Fundraiser

A Great Start Preschool is partnering with Stephanie Elise Photography to offer Winter themed Mini Photo Sessions as a fundraiser for our school!

When: Friday, November 14th 4:00-8:00 PM and
Saturday, November 15th 10:30-3:30 PM


Where: A Great Start Preschool Music Room (door 12)


What: 20 min. session • 1 backdrop • 5–10 images

Late Night Date Night

Late Night Date Night At A Great Start Preschool

Friday, December 5th, 2025 from 6pm-9pm

Cost:  $25 per child

A combination of Preschool Teachers and Helpers will care for your children. The night will consist of free play, a pizza dinner, and a project or activity.

Please return this form and fees due to the Preschool office by Nov 28th to reserve a spot for your children. Pajama night! Your children can come dressed in their pajamas, and may bring a small pillow or stuffed toy. Please bring a bag with any diapering necessities. This event is open to children who turn 2 by 12/31/25 and up (schoolagers welcome).

Parent Connection Group Meeting

Join Our Parent Connection Group!

Looking for a way to stay connected, support the school, and get to know other parents? Our Parent Connection Group is a casual, welcoming space where parents can make a meaningful impact—without a huge time commitment.

We meet in the evenings for about 60–90 minutes, a few times throughout the school year. Whether you come to one meeting or all of them, your presence and input are valued!

This group works behind the scenes on school-wide initiatives like:

  • Planning and supporting fun events and fundraisers

  • Coordinating Teacher & Staff Appreciation efforts

  • Discussing school procedures and sharing feedback as needed

  • Building a stronger parent-school-community connection

Note: This is not the same as volunteering in the classroom. For classroom roles or event-day help, please refer to our Family Volunteer Program policy for more details.

Participation in this group is completely optional—but we appreciate every bit of support. Come for the conversation, stay for the community!

*Please arrive on time for check-in. Wagons will depart at 5:30!  Late arrivals may not be accommodated, so please arrive on time and check in with Christina for your hayride tickets near the front wooden play area!  Have you ever been to Windmill Farms? This is an adventure you won’t forget! A 30 minute (approx.) hayride will take you up and down big hills, through thick mud and deep puddles, and the kids will get a pumpkin!  There are animals, a playground area, and don’t forget to browse the country store!

 

Cost:  $10.00 per child-ages 2 and up

(Includes hayride and small pumpkin)

& $10.00 per adult (hayride only)

(Siblings and friends invited too!)

 

Rain or shine!!  Permission form and fees are due by October 8th

Fall Picture Days

No. 9 Images will be at AGSP for Fall Pictures on October 1st-3rd. We will attempt to photograph each child in attendance and take a class photo. We do our best to get some great smiles, but as I am sure you know, children are not always cooperative on picture day.  About 3-4 weeks after picture day, you will receive a private link to view all proofs and place an order if you choose.  No money or forms are due in advance. This is not a fundraiser for the school and you are not obligated to purchase pictures.  Sorry, we don’t have make up dates, but we will have another picture day in the Spring.

Blessing of the Backpacks

August 24, 2025 (Sun)- Blessing of the Backpacks Church Service and Preschool Open House (More details to come)

Blessing of the Backpacks: Mark your calendar for this annual event on Sunday, August 24. You are invited to participate in any/all aspects of this event, including Church Service (10am), Lunch (immediately following church service), and/or Preschool Open House (approximately 11am-12:30pm). 

The Church Service will begin in the Sanctuary (front of building door 1) at 10am.  This will be a kid friendly service geared toward kids with special activities for the kids! Students of any age can bring their backpack for a special backpack tag and blessing for a great school year.  Immediately following the service, there will be food and activities in the back parking lot (or CFC door 6 depending on weather).  For about an hour or while supplies last, Southminster will have hot dogs and other treats and the Preschool is providing dessert!  Southminster will host activities for the kids, and the Preschool (door 10) will also be open at this time (approximately 11am-12:30pm) for anyone to walk through and visit rooms.  By this event, you will have received in the mail the “Back to School” packet with teacher/room assignment. Although not all the staff will be at the event, you will be able to tour your child's classroom, play for a bit, and weather permitting explore the playground. This is an extra opportunity to help your child feel comfortable at AGSP prior to their first day.  If you attend the Open House August 24th, I would love it if you could drop off your completed paperwork to the preschool office (which will be mailed in the Back to School Packet) so that I can get a head start on processing paperwork.  

You are welcome to participate in any part of this event that you would like!

Tickets will be held in the lawn area. Please note that lawn chairs of any kind are not permitted inside the ballpark. For additional comfort, we recommend bringing a towel/blanket.

End of Year Celebration for all

Traditionally, we celebrate the end of the school year with an End of Year Celebration Picnic at Forest Field Park, 11am-2pm. Everyone is welcome! There are no regular classes on this day. End of Year Program Recital and Graduation

End of Year Program Recital and Graduation for all MW & F Little Learners, MWF Smart Start, all Preschool Plus-including Ms. Ginny and Ms. Hannah’s Tues/Thurs Preschool Plus), all KinderStart (including all of Ms. Mandy’s PM students) and Kindergarten. Children will come to school at their regular time, and families are invited to join us in the Sanctuary (Door 1) at 9:30am for morning classes and 1:00pm for afternoon classes. Mark your calendars and plan to come watch your child sing some of their favorite songs at school. More details to come clsoser to the event. This program usually lasts approximately 75-90 minutes. Please plan to stay for the entirety.

*All other classes participated in the Winter Program February 27th.

Preschool Prom!

This is one of our favorite events! The entire family is welcome to attend. Some will be dressed up in stunning prom attire, others will be comfy in jeans/tshirts (and I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a few superheroes and princesses too!) This event is held rain or shine. We will have a DJ, Food Trucks, Dancing, Photo Stations, activites for the kids and decorations galore! Volunteers will be needed for set up and clean up.
